Updates from Scottish Youth Theatre

Monday, 09 January 2006

We are at last finding our feet with the building and although we are now settled there are still tiny bits of building work that need fixing – those things you don’t notice until once in! The theatre fit-out is one such issue. The work on this is taking place at present and will continue until completion in February. I can understand how frustrating it must be not being able to have something you can display as being because you your generosity it is equally frustrating for us that we cannot recognize individual givers in the same way – it isn’t possible just yet. However, it WILL happen, it’s just a case of waiting of other issues to be ironed out and then we can fire on full steam ahead.
I will make sure you guys are kept up to date with everything that is happening at the new building so you can at least pass on to your members that we are striving for a job well done – a job that BBLoons have helped to support and for that we are extremely grateful.
I hope this helps your situation and I hope to have more news for you very, very soon.

All the best and Happy Holidays to you and all of BBLoons,

Cheers,
Mark Irwin

TSLO Exhibition

Tuesday, 06 September 2005

The LiA Project is a group-exhibition with members from three online communities: Life is Art, Billy’s Loons Charities and Project Monaghan. 18 children and adults exhibited their artwork in photography, painting, drawing and computer-design. It took place in Filosofgangen gallery in Odense, Denmark, at the "MEMORIES II: A Family Affair"-exhibition through TSLO. This was a two-week (11 - 24 July, 2005) exhibit and workshop for children, students and non-professional adults to celebrate the 200th Birthday of Hans Christian Andersen, Odense's favourite son. As much as 50 children and adults exhibited their artwork inspired by the fairytales of HC Andersen. In addition were people in all ages that took part in the workshops in the gallery during the event.

This exhibition was the second art-show through TSLO, an association for non-professional artists. They organized a similar art exhibit the summer of 2004 in Odense, Denmark, and they will also manage the artistic show at The Fellowship Festival 2005 in London, in coordination with Access All Areas. Other potential exhibits are planned in the US, Moscow, Central Africa and New Zealand.

You can find pictures and reports on the Homepage of the LiA Project.
Special Thanks to Nessie for her commitment.
